The Complete Path of Hatha Yoga: Practice, Energetics, and Living Wisdom

  • Landguet Ried, Center for mindful living 10 Hilfligweg Niederwangen bei Bern, BE, 3172 Switzerland (Karte)

Immerse yourself in the practical power and breadth of Hatha Yoga. This retreat/training with Rod Stryker is designed for practitioners as well as teachers—anyone wanting to get the most out of their practice and teaching.

Throughout our time together, we explore the keys to understanding how yoga actually works—why specific practices change your body, mind, and inner life, and how to apply the teachings so they meaningfully support your life on and off the mat.

We will move through a deliberate progression—via practice, theory, and Q&A—to ensure you leave with a clear framework and deepened experience. You will gain a new level of understanding of how asana becomes a gateway into the fuller scope of yoga, and how “ancient wisdom” can be rendered accessible, relevant, and profoundly useful.

At the heart of the training are three core themes—essential pillars of Hatha, Yoga, and Tantra—presented in a way that is grounded, experiential, and practical.

What is Tantra?

Tantra offers the most comprehensive approach to yoga, methodically weaving the diverse techniques of asana, pranayama, meditation, contemplation and purposeful living into a dynamic and unified approach. Two core principles inform tantra's vision: one, life is inherently sacred and two, the right practice will help you expand beyond your limitations and see, most importantly, embody the sacred in your life. Rooted in ancient knowledge, Tantra Yoga Alchemy offers curriculum meticulously developed and refined over decades.

Tantra can be described as “the science of energy management; there is no energy in the world that is not in your body.” says Rod. “Master your body’s subtle forces, and you can be more masterful in the way you live. As a result, the stars no longer command you. You command the stars.”

STAGE 1 | Asana, Bandha, Mudra

Bandha and mudra mark the point where physical practice begins to educate the nervous system, refine attention, and awaken a deeper current of steadiness and creative power. These are the yogic gateways to greater balance, healing, and a more unified mind. Mudra—traditionally regarded as the culmination of physical yoga—is where asana, breath, and bandha integrate, bridging the physical and meditative dimensions of practice. Sessions include vinyasa, asana, pranayama, and meditation.

STAGE 2 | Vinyasa Krama + Ayurveda

When asana is approached systematically, it becomes the foundation that supports every other aspect of practice. Rod shares the energetic principles of sequencing (vinyasa krama), the intelligence of Ayurveda, and key tantric insights that explain why certain practices yield specific outcomes—stability, clarity, vitality, and inner ease. Through both practice and applied philosophy, you will learn how to heighten the effects of what you do, tailor practice to individual needs, and understand the principles that shift yoga into a path of transformation.

STAGE 3 | Secrets of the Yoga Sutra

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras remain the defining text of the yoga tradition—timeless, precise, and deeply practical when properly illuminated. We highlight essential teachings that are often overlooked, focusing on principles that elevate practice and reshape one’s relationship to thought, emotion, and perception. Rather than focus on the eight limbs, we will explore the teachings that serve as guidance for how we meet modern stress and reactivity with clarity and real solutions.

Sessions include asana, pranayama, meditation, and guided yoga nidra practices.
