The Mindfulness Year is a foundational study of contemplative psychology, meditation practice, and healing community. Students learn the foundations of mindfulness and loving kindness alongside the neuroscience of their efficacy and their practical applications in psychotherapy and other caregiving professions, in fostering human development, and in facilitating positive psychosocial change.

12 Continuing Education Credits (CEs) are available per retreat (fall and spring).

Transforming Trauma into Freedom and Well-Being

The Embodied Psychotherapy track integrates embodied contemplative science and practice with contemporary self-psychology, depth-psychology, internal family systems, somatic, and trauma therapies. The Embodied Psychosocial Change track integrates embodied contemplative science and practice with social work, decolonizing education, social justice work, community organizing, non-profit and humanitarian aid work, climate justice and political activism.

The training is spread over 3 years - participants can start in either year.

Science can tell us a lot about our emotions, but does all this knowledge really help us when we’re in the midst of an argument with a loved one?  Knowing is one thing, but really understanding ourselves from the inside is another. "Cultivating Emotional Balance" can help us see and understand our emotions in a completely new way. Combining an elegant blend of contemporary emotion science and state-of-the-art contemplative mind training, this unique training provides participants with a practical understanding of their emotional life.
